Dr. Salman Zarka

Dr. Salman Zarka is the director of the Ziv Medical Center in Safed, a senior lecturer in the Faculty of Social Welfare and Health at the School of Public Health at Haifa University, and a senior lecturer in the Department of Military Medicine at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, which trains military doctors. Dr. Zarka was born in 1964 in Peki’in to a large Druze family. He completed his medical studies at the Technion, Haifa, as part of the Academic Reserve military program (Atuda), and served in the military for over 25 years, reaching the rank of Colonel (reserve). Dr. Zarka has an MPH in epidemiology and public health from the Hebrew University, is a graduate of the National Security College, and has an MA in political science and national security from the University of Haifa.
