Shir is a social worker specializing in addiction and is part of the training team at the ICA clinic.
She holds a BSW from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev and a master’s degree in expressive therapies (bibliotherapy) from the University of Haifa.
She has extensive experience in treating people struggling with addiction alongside other mental health problems. She was the coordinator of the dual diagnosis unit of a framework of assisted living facilities in Netanya (as part of the rehabilitation basket).
During her years working as a therapy coordinator, she acquired extensive experience in integrative treatment, building and implementing rehabilitation programs, providing individual therapy and helping people access their rights.
In the past, she was a social worker at a center for long-term medical treatment in Hadera, where she treated and mentored people struggling with addiction to opioids, including many with dual diagnosis.
The Israeli Center for Addictions is an academic clinical center founded with the aim of leading the treatment of addictions, training professionals and promoting research, prevention and national policy in the field.
